A Plan for You:
Production Changeover Plan
WRP will be ready instantly to take over all aspects of
production of your magazine. WRP is fully staffed and fully functional
regarding the equipment necessary for every detail of the proposed job. WRP
currently has seven computers, eight scanners, six printers, and digital
equipment all dedicated solely to production and distribution work, plus the
peripheral equipment necessary for nearly any conceivable production work.
Our offices are state-of-the-art, with three high-end proofing printers for
generating press-ready proofs, scanners capable of handling transparencies
as large as 8" x 10" as well as prints and slides, and an already-developed
system of handling scans, material, and artwork. Even without any of the
former producer's files, WRP has proven the ability to take over production
without missing a beat. This occurred in 2005 with both the MRHA's
The Milwaukee Railroader and the
ELHS's The Diamond, where all
material was held hostage by a third party, and WRP completed magazines on
time even with no cooperation or support from the previous producer. WRP
also began a new magazine for the Rock Island Technical Society in 2005,
The Rocket, with essentially no
support from previous or current RITS publishers.
Our plan would hopefully include the previous producer in the
process of turning everything relevant over to WRP just prior to beginning
magazine production. It is anticipated that WRP will go to work immediately
after the bid (request a bid) is awarded and begin the process of
accumulating the necessary files, artwork, and advertising materials, and
will begin the search for exciting and relevant articles. Kevin EuDaly, Mike
Schafer, and Dale Sanders are all fans and modelers. Kevin models the MoPac
in HO Scale (no current layout), Mike Models the fictitious Illinois & St.
Louis in HO Scale, and Dale models Pacific Northwest logging roads. Kevin's
father, James EuDaly, is well-known in the modeling field with his
spectacular O Scale C&O railroad.
Turning over Production
White River Productions' stance with every client is that we
are a contractor who is not only responsible for producing material, but is
also responsible to the contracting organization. This philosophy means that
we are at the ready to do whatever is necessary to make sure the client's
needs are met regardless of the situation. Beneath the photo on our
Magazine Publisher page,
you will note two axioms that represent the way we do business. Those
principles have gained us many loyal clients, and established procedures
with proper reporting.
All material used and developed for your society during our
tenure is deemed by WRP to be the property of the society. In the event that
another contractor is chosen in the future, WRP will be diligent to turn
over all files, both physical and digital, that are necessary for the new
contractor to continue the magazine we have developed. All pertinent scans
are kept on pairs of removable hard drives (one of each pair is in a
fireproof safe), and these scans would simply be turned over to the new
contractor, along with all electronic files including the magazine itself,
all templates, all advertising files and folders; essentially everything
necessary to continue without any delay. Articles under development and
contact information would also be treated the same and delivered to the new
contractor.
